Marcus Spake practices in the firms Charlotte, North Carolina office. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Appalachian State University, and his J.D. from Charlotte School of Law, where he graduated with pro-bono honors and was an active member of Delta Theta Phi, legal fraternity.
Marcus was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2012 and is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association's Workers' Compensation section and Young Lawyer Division, as well as a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar. Marcus has served as Vice-Chairperson of the Board for a local arts-based charter school, and has volunteered at several non-profit organizations focusing on advocacy for the rights of children. Marcus was among a select group of North Carolinians chosen as a Fellow for the 2019-2020 class of the E.A. Morris Foundation for Emerging Leaders. Marcus was also named to North Carolina Super Lawyers - Rising Stars in Workers' Compensation Law for 2020.
Prior to practicing law, Marcus taught Spanish in North Carolina public schools. Marcus lives in Charlotte with his wife, Maribeth, and their spoiled cat, Nelly. Outside of practice, he is an avid traveler and enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and spending time on Lake Wylie.
