J. Gabriel Coggiola (“Gabe”) practices in the firm's Columbia, South Carolina office. Mr. Coggiola received his B.A. degree in history from the University of South Carolina in 2001 and his J.D. in 2005 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi. He is a former law clerk to the Honorable Matthew J. Perry, Jr., Senior United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina.
Gabe was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2005 and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association. He practices exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation defense and has argued appeals before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of South Carolina.
A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Gabe lives in Columbia with his wife, Lauren, and two daughters, Weeze and Maggie (and pets Disco and Hank). He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia, and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, snowboarding, surfing, and live music. Gabe is an active participant in the Families Helping Families Non-Profit and coaches youth basketball at Trinity Episcopal.
