Paula F. Smith practices in the firms’ Atlanta, Georgia office and practices exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation defense. Paula has thirty (30) years’ experience representing both self-insured and commercially insured employers across the State in a wide array of workers’ compensation matters. Paula received her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. While in school, she worked as an Athletic Hostess for the late Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. Paula obtained her law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1988. She clerked for two summers with a large defense firm in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating from law school, she and her husband relocated to Atlanta Georgia.

Paula is admitted to the Georgia Bar and to the Florida Bar. She is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is also an active member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and Georgia Workers’ Compensation Association. She has been privileged to speak at various seminars for The Atlanta Bar Association and the State Board of Workers’ Compensation.  Paula is also a certified mediator registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.  In 2023 she was awarded the 14th Annual Howard Osofsky Award by Kids’ Chance of Georgia in recognition of significant contributions to helping the organization achieve its mission.

Paula is married and has two teenaged sons. Outside of her practice, Paula enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and running. She was formerly certified as a Zumba Instructor and still enjoys music and dance.
