Robert (Robb) L. Brown practices in the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office. He graduated from Erskine College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2002. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2005.
He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2005. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, District of South Carolina, and United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. Robb is a member of South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and Richland County Bar Association. He has been selected for Columbia Business Magazine Legal Elite (2016) and South Carolina Super Lawyers – Rising Stars (2013-2017). Robb was named US News Best Lawyers for Insurance Law for 2020. Robb holds an AV Preeminent rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell indicating the highest level of ethical and professional excellence. He has defended clients against personal injury, construction, defamation, and ERISA claims. He has prosecuted first part actions on behalf of insurance companies, as well as represented private companies in contractual disputes, and tried numerous cases to verdict.
Robb is originally from Taylors, South Carolina, but now calls Columbia, SC home where he resides with his wife, Jenny, and their daughter, Maggie. Robb attends Downtown Church in Columbia, South Carolina. He is a member of the SC Bar’s Torts and Insurance Practices Section, and is former chairman (2009-2011) of the SC Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Outside of the office, Robb enjoys hobbies including home renovation, woodworking, and trying to keep up with his daughter. He is also an avid Gamecock fan.
