Lawrence (Larry) M. Baker practices in the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. He received his BA degree from Alma College in Alma, MI and his JD degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board. Larry was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1990 and is admitted in the Eastern and Western Districts of Federal Court in North Carolina. He practices in the areas of workers’ compensation defense and civil litigation. He is also a Certified NC Civil Court Mediator.

Larry is a Past President of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Lexis Nexis Martindale-Hubbell indicating the highest level of ethical and professional excellence and previously served on the North Carolina Industrial Commission’s Chairman’s Advisory Council. Larry was selected to 2023 North Carolina Super Lawyers in Workers’ Compensation Defense for a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  He has been named to US News Best Lawyers® for Workers’ Compensation Law in 2018-2023 and selected as one of the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Leaders in Law for 2019.

Larry has lived in Charlotte since 1990 with his wife, Susie and children, Catherine and Sarah. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, tennis, and board games.
