South Lewis, II is in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina office where his practice focuses primarily on workers’ compensation defense. He also advises and represents clients on general labor and employment matters. South received his B.S. degree, cum laude, from The Citadel in 1998, where he was a member of the 1998 Summerall Guards and the Honor Court. South received his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2001.
South was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2001 and is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, and the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association. He is further admitted to practice in the United States District Court (District of South Carolina) and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. South was named to US News Best Lawyers® for Workers’ Compensation Law in 2019-2022 and Greenville Lawyer of the Year for Workers’ Compensation Law (Employers) in 2020. He was also named Greenville Business Magazine Legal Elite in 2020.
South lives in Greenville, with his wife, Suzanne, and three sons, Denver, Hampton, and Will, who are all very active in multiple sports. In his time away from work, South enjoys playing golf, exercising, practicing on the grill, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Braves.
